The Commission meets at 3:00 p.m.
on the 4th Monday of each month at the Veterans Service
Commission Office.
In 1636, the Plymouth Colony enacted into
law a provision that stated:
“if any man shalbee sent
forth as a soldier and shall return maimed he shalbee maintained competently
by the Colonie during his life”
By the Civil War, Abraham Lincoln phrased
it as:
To care for him who shall
have borne the battle and for his widow and his orphan…”
